Ft. Benning Growth Team Seeks Regional Planner
The Fort Benning Regional Growth Management team is offering an excellent employment opportunity for an individual with experience in urban and regional planning to help communities in the Chattahoochee Valley of Alabama and Georgia prepare for the population surge resulting from BRAC.

The regional planning specialist will analyze, interpret, update and maintain the Fort Benning Regional Growth Management Plan to help county and municipal governments in the 10-county bi-state region implement growth planning recommendations. The job requires: the ability to assist urban and rural communities with limited planning staff and to facilitate a regional approach to planning; knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of planning in a broad spectrum of areas, including land use planning, transportation, utilities, housing, education and public safety; experience as a planning director (preferred); and skills in operating CommunityViz land use planning software.

California City Seeks Developer for Senior Housing Community
The Redevelopment Agency of the city of Marina, Calif., is soliciting proposals from developers and operators with the capability and experience to develop and operate a state-of-the-art residential community/neighborhood for seniors. The 188-acre Cypress Knolls site is part of the former Fort Ord and is owned by the agency. It is a desirable property with a coastal location and topography and offers partial views of Monterey Bay.

An RFP is available at www.marinaRFP.com. Proposals are due Feb. 16, 2010. A site tour with lunch and opportunity for discussion with potential development team members will be held Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
