Forbes, Bordallo Top Readiness Panel

Republican and Democratic leadership named new lineups for the House Armed Services’ Readiness Subcommittee this week. Randy Forbes (R-Va.), who had been the panel’s ranking member since 2008, is now chairman. Rep. Madeleine Bordallo (D-Guam) was named ranking member after Silvestre Reyes (D-Texas) opted to become the top Democrat on the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee. Reyes was the highest ranking Democrat on the Readiness panel following electoral losses in November by former chairman Solomon Ortiz (Texas) and Gene Taylor (Miss.).
