Quality of Life Issues Cross Fence Line, Borron Tells AFA

September 26, 2022

The issues facing the military are the same ones facing families, businesses and communities near installations, ADC Executive Director Matt Borron said last week at the Air & Space Forces Association Air, Space & Cyber Conference.

Those issues include the economy, climate change and quality of life, he said.

“The issues you want to tackle cannot be tackled only within the fence line,” Borron said, as Air & Space Forces Magazine reported. “All of this stuff transcends the fence line. And if you’re not working with your community, you’re not going to make a dent.”

Air Force Chief of Staff Charles “CQ” Brown Jr., who appeared on the same panel, credited military spouses with helping bridge the installation-community gap on quality of life issues, citing the Air Force’s Five & Thrive initiative.
