OUR NATION’S DEFENSE INFRASTRUCTURE IS AT A CROSSROADS

Budget battles and efficiency measures are already having an impact on how installations are managed and maintained. For transitioning installations, limited resources are slowing timelines and creating new obstacles. As these challenges intensify in the coming years, it is critical for defense communities, the military, and industry to advance new ways of thinking and to forge a deeper collaboration. It is also critical that together, we are advocating for the importance of supporting, sustaining and transitioning our nation’s defense infrastructure.

This June, ADC will host its first-ever Defense Communities National Summit – our new Washington, D.C.-based annual conference. This three-day event will bring together hundreds of leaders from communities, states, military and industry to:

  • Focus attention on the issues of defense communities and military installations with policymakers in DoD, Congress and the Administration.
  • Provide an opportunity for policymakers to brief attendees on key issues impacting defense communities and installations.
  • Create a venue to bring together leaders from the military, communities, states and industry to encourage interaction and share best practices.
  • Offer educational/training opportunities around topics in five issue areas.
