Installation Energy Test Bed Would Benefit under Budget Request
The Installation Energy Test Bed Program would receive $32 million, a 7 percent increase compared to fiscal 2012, under the president’s 2013 budget request. The program demonstrates new technologies to reduce risk, overcome barriers to deployment and promote wide-scale commercialization.
The budget request includes a total of $1 billion for energy conservation investments, including energy retrofits of existing buildings, meeting energy efficiency standards for new buildings and developing renewable energy projects. The request also includes $150 million for the Energy Conservation Investment Program, which improves the energy efficiency of DOD facilities.
