Pease: ‘A Success beyond Any of Our Wildest Dreams’
- April 4, 2011
On the 20th anniversary of the closing of Pease Air Force Base, Seacoast Online reports how initial decisions by the state of New Hampshire helped ensure the installation’s assets could sustain a thriving business park.
Before state legislation created the Pease Development Authority in 1990, local officials and stakeholders already had begun initial planning efforts. And by the time the Air Force shuttered the installation on March 31, 1991, a plan to turn Pease into a business and aviation industrial park had begun to take shape.
Now, Pease International Tradeport is home to more than 250 companies and about 7,000 workers.
