Under Deal with County, Developer Widening Access Road to Ft. Meade
The developer of a 240-acre, mixed-use complex near Fort Meade, Md., has agreed to widen a major access route to the post in lieu of paying the county impact fees.
The deal accelerates the expansion of Route 175, a huge benefit for Anne Arundel County which had been unable to attain state funding for the project, reports Severn Patch. Now a one-mile section of the road will be widened; without the deal, the developer’s impact fees would have covered only the expense of improving several intersections along the road. The developer also agreed to hold off on going forward with his project until the road widening was under way.
