Willow Grove LRA Moves toward Final Reuse Plan
The Horsham LRA is scheduled to adopt a final reuse plan on March 21 for 862 acres at the former Naval Air Station Willow Grove located outside of Philadelphia, after settling on one of the redevelopment scenarios prepared by its planning consultant.
After approving “option E” at its public meeting Wednesday, the LRA asked RKG Associates to provide more financial details about the scenario, along with a description of the different housing types included in the plan, reported the Hatboro-Horsham Patch. The LRA is expected to introduce the final plan at its Feb. 15 meeting and allow residents 30 days to comment.
Previously, the authority recommended reducing the density of the reuse plan by 30 percent, resulting in a decrease in the number of housing units from 1,999 to 1,416. LRA Executive Director Mike McGee told the audience the development would be implemented in phases, with single-family homes likely constructed first.
