Columbus Chamber Needs Consultant for Regional Impact Assessment of Ft. Benning Cuts

The Valley Partnership Joint Development Authority seeks consulting services for a comprehensive regional assessment of community impacts associated with Army personnel reductions (CIAR) at Fort Benning, Ga.

The assessment is being undertaken to help Fort Benning and impacted communities in the region prepare for the significant loss of military personnel. The purpose of the CIAR is to assess the challenges and opportunities facing the communities impacted by the personnel reductions and to find solutions that address associated economic and community issues. The CIAR is designed to prepare for the coming changes through a coordinated approach that involves regional, county, community and installation leaders in planning and implementing loss management actions that address all aspects of economic and community planning.

The Valley Partnership will accept proposals at 1200 6th Ave., Columbus, GA 31901 until 5 p.m. EST on Nov. 30. Specifications are available for public inspection at the above address. The RFP also can be downloaded from the Valley Partnership’s website.
