In Ohio News: College to Offer Courses on Air Guard Base; Connect with Installations, Industry at the Ohio Defense Forum

Clark State Community College will offer courses on base to airmen in the Ohio Air National Guard’s 178th Wing, allowing them to earn an associate’s degree with the Community College of the Air Force, under a recent agreement the wing based at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport reached with the school. The college already offers a 50 percent discount to service members and their families. Clark State has taken several steps to provide more support to military families recently, including becoming one of the state’s first schools to receive the Purple Heart Campus designation, denoting it actively supports and welcomes veterans and military members, reports the Springfield News-Sun. … The Ohio Defense Forum 2018, hosted by the Dayton Development Coalition, is scheduled for Oct. 16-17 in Columbus. The theme of the conference — intended for installation and community leaders, and industry representatives — is “Ohio’s Defense Ecosystem.” Keynote speakers include John Henderson, assistant secretary of the Air Force for installations, environment and energy; and Army Undersecretary Ryan McCarthy.
