Appropriations on Fast Track Before Friday Deadline

December 15, 2019

Congressional leaders may formally announce their negotiated spending bills Monday, and the House could vote on the bills in two bundles, known as “minibuses,” as early as Tuesday. That would leave just a few days for the Senate to pass – and the President to sign – all 12 appropriations bills before current spending runs out Friday night.
Politico cited a source familiar with the agreement saying that it would provide flat funding of $1.4 billion for the wall and would not restore funding for military construction projects delayed to fund the wall. The bill would not block the President from diverting other money to the wall, though a judge has blocked such a move.
The White House has said President Trump is ready to sign the negotiated spending bills.
