The administration will formally submit its fiscal year 2020 budget request to Congress the week of March 11, CQ reported Monday.
Budget watchers have said the defense portion of the budget could be as high as $750 billion – above the statutory caps that go back in effective for fiscal year 2020.
By law, the budget was due to Capitol Hill Feb. 4 but was delayed because most of the Office of Management and Budget staff were furloughed during the partial government shutdown.
