House Armed Services Committee Sets June Markups for NDAA

April 11, 2019

The House Armed Services Committee will begin its markup of the fiscal 2020 National Defense Authorization Act in early June, according to a House Armed Services Committee press release.
The markup begins June 4 with the subcommittees for Military Personnel, Seapower and Projection Forces, Tactical Air and Land Forces and Strategic Forces. The next day the Readiness and Intelligence and Emerging Threats and Capabilities subcommittees will hold their hearings.
The full committee will hold its final markup June 12, which coincides with ADC’s Defense Community National Summit on Capitol Hill.
This year’s NDAA process is unusual. The Senate announced last week it will start its markups May 20, even though it usually waits for the House to go first, as ADC reported.
