The House passed a nonbinding resolution Thursday that would limit President Donald Trump’s authority to take further military action against Iran without congressional approval. It includes an exemption for cases of imminent threat.
Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Tom Lee (R-Utah) have said they would join Democrats to vote for similar legislation limiting war powers, but their support still wouldn’t be enough to put the Senate on record opposing action against Iran.
