In Other News: Navy to Reach 355 Ships in Mid-2030s

Navy officials told lawmakers Thursday the service plans to achieve a fleet of 355 ships by the mid-2030s, moving up the date for reaching the target by two decades. To expedite the effort to reach 355 ships, the Navy plans to extend the service life of its entire class of Arleigh Burke guided-missile destroyers to 45 years, reported the Daily Press.
