Report: Bases in FL, AZ to See Biggest Temp Jumps over Next 30 Years

November 11, 2019

Rising temperatures across the country could pose risks to all military installations – but especially at three bases, according to a new report from the Union of Concerned Scientists.
The left-leaning organization says that by 2050, it will feel like 100 degrees or hotter for at least a quarter of the year at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., and Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., Military.com reported.
The study concludes that “heat illnesses are a significant and persistent threat to both the health of U.S. military members and the effectiveness of military operations.”
