President Donald Trump’s nominees to become the top officers of the Army and Navy were confirmed Thursday, The Hill reported.
The Senate confirmed newly appointed senior leaders Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Bill Moran and Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConnville by unanimous consent.
Moran will replace Adm. John Richardson while McConnville will take over from Gen. Mark Milley, President Trump’s nominee to be the next Joint Chiefs chairman.
The Senate also confirmed Moran’s and McConnville’s replacements as their services’ second top officers. Adm. Robert Burke was confirmed as vice chief of naval operations and Gen. Joseph Martin was confirmed as Army vice chief of staff.
