President Donald Trump will send his full budget request for fiscal year 2021 to Congress Feb. 10, the White House announced Monday. The budget request will not be an abbreviated version like the Administration has submitted to Capitol Hill the past two years, CQ reported.
Under a two-year agreement enacted last summer, discretionary spending in the new year will be capped at $5 billion over this fiscal year’s levels – evenly split between defense and non-defense accounts.
It is too early to know whether the increasing tension with Iran will impact the defense request.
Trump is scheduled to deliver the State of the Union address the previous week on Feb. 4.
