The Air Force will spend $3 billion in the coming years to rebuild Tyndall Air Force Base, which was hit by Hurricane Michael last year.
Air Force officials made the announcement at a recent community forum after a tour of the storm damage, according to The News Herald.
“This is the beginning of an historic recovery,” Bay County Defense Alliance Chairman Tom Neubauer said, according to the article.
The reconstruction could mean 4,000 to 5,000 jobs for the region.
