Editor's Note: On Base Looks Forward to Hearing From You

June 9, 2019

I would like to share a quick note with ADC’s membership as the Managing Editor of the association’s On Base newsletter. As a recent member of the team, it has been a busy period learning about ADC and the interests and activities of the communities that make it a great organization.
My background includes diverse work in communications and media, and includes performing writing, communications, editorial, and other media services for a range of corporate, technology and start-up firms.
Most notably in regard to On Base, I have served as a Navy Journalist assigned to two U.S. aircraft carriers – the USS Midway (now a museum in San Diego), and the USS Nimitz our of Bremerton, Wash. In these roles I wrote, edited and published a command newspaper; produced on board news broadcasts; and wrote, edited and published public affairs collateral, including press kits, press releases and informational materials.
As On Base evolves, we would like to share that ADC is interested in hearing quality of life stories and other activities happening in your communities that make them great places for our military to work and live. Send items for possible coverage to: gtraweek@defensecommunities.org
In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at this week’s Defense Communities National Summit.
