Contamination from PFOA/PFOS toxins have been found polluting groundwater underneath an Arizona Air National Guard base adjoining Tucson International Airport, Tuscon.com reported. A consultant’s report for the Air Guard says testing turned up levels exceeding recommended federal standards in water underneath the base but because the base’s wells are already shut down and nearby city water is being routed to a treatment plant, the contamination doesn’t pose any immediate health risk, Tucson Water officials say.
