Lt. Gen. Kenneth Dahl, commanding general of the Army’s Installation Management Command, will address the role of partnerships in the Army’s “Divest, Reshape, Invest” strategy in his opening remarks during the service’s pre-conference workshop at next week’s Installation Innovation Forum. Dahl will lead 38 IMCOM officials to San Diego, where they will promote partnerships to strengthen bonds between installations and their host communities, according to the agency.
The preconference session also will feature Lt. Gen. Gwen Bingham, assistant chief of staff for installation management, and Jordan Gillis, acting assistant secretary for installations, energy and environment. Garrison commanders from Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Fort Campbell, Ky., along with the chief of staff from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., will follow with overviews of their partnerships. The Army, Air Force and Marine Corps each will host preconference workshops designed for installation commanders and community leaders on the morning of Feb. 12.
In the afternoon, Dahl will speak on a general session panel with representatives from each of the services exploring ways to prepare the next generation of installation leaders. For more information about the Forum and to register, visit the IIF website.
