Walter Reed LRA Needs EDC Business Plan, Support to Select Master Developer

The District of Columbia has issued two solicitations for work to support the redevelopment of the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

The district’s office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), on behalf of the Walter Reed Local Redevelopment Authority, is seeking a consultant for Economic Development Conveyance (EDC) Business Plan and Analysis Services, which will support the analysis needed for an EDC application to the Army. Responses are due by 2 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Separately, DMPED is seeking a contractor, with experience with an LRA on a BRAC project to apply best strategies, district law and federal BRAC law to write and manage a request for qualifications process on behalf of the Walter Reed LRA with the goal of selecting a master developer for the 66.57-acre surplus site. Responses are due by 2 p.m. on Sept. 17.

For more information about either procurement opportunity, visit the DMPED website. If you have additional questions regarding the reuse of Walter Reed and upcoming opportunities, contact Martine Combal, Walter Reed LRA Director, at or 202/727-6365.
