Firm to Develop Ingleside Attracts Interest from Tenants

Houston-based Canyon Supply and Logistics, which plans to develop the industrial part of the former Naval Station Ingleside into an offshore service complex for the oil and gas industry, is in negotiations with four tenants interested in leasing space at the base.

The update comes as Canyon advances toward the Sept. 15 closing date to purchase the 483-acre base along with 435 acres of green field property adjacent to it from the Port of Corpus Christi for $75.8 million, reports the Corpus Christi Caller Times.

Canyon told the port it is close to reaching agreements with three tenants:

  • Texas Strategic Energy Reserve to lease 100 acres initially to build a series of tank farm terminals;
  • Camber Corp., a government contractor; and
  • Texas A&M University, which the port hired as its master developer, may lease several buildings for its maritime school.

Canyon also is in talks with Marine Well Containment Co. — a consortium of oil companies — which is looking for a center to provide rapid response services.
