Given the overwhelming response to the 2014 Defense Community Awards, the deadline to submit nominations has been extended to April 14.
As defense communities face challenges on multiple fronts, it is important to take the time to recognize the accomplishments of the leadership at communities and installations.
ADC will present this year’s awards at the second annual Defense Communities Congressional Breakfast June 5 on Capitol Hill as part of the Defense Communities National Summit. Each award honors a community, installation, public official or military leader demonstrating leadership, innovation and excellence.
“The Defense Communities Awards program is a tremendous way for communities to recognize the achievements of communities and the leaders who support them,” said Tim Ford, CEO of ADC. “This is an opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding work defense community leaders do to support their installations, community projects and our nation’s military leadership.”
Last year, ADC re-launched its awards program with a first-ever Congressional Breakfast awards ceremony. Last year, eight senior members of the House and Senate attended, as did VIPs from the Pentagon.
Award categories for 2014 include: Congressional Leadership, Military Leadership, Community or State Leadership, Base Redevelopment Project, Defense Community or State, and DOD Installation.
Details about award criteria and how to submit a nomination are available on the ADC website.
