White House to Mark Third Anniversary of ‘Joining Forces’

First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden are asking Americans to ask questions about “Joining Forces” via social media, as part of the events celebrating the initiative’s third anniversary today.

On Wednesday, Obama and Biden will speak to service members, families and employers at the Veterans Jobs Summit and Career Forum at Fort Campbell, Ky., and will answer some questions about the initiative they launched to mobilize all sectors of American society to support service members and their families.

The White House has invited the nation to mark the anniversary by sharing a message or asking a question about Joining Forces on social media — by using the hashtag #JoiningForces on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram — and by finding ways to get involved.

“In just three years, hundreds of thousands of veterans and military spouses have been hired or trained by businesses nationwide,” Obama and Biden wrote in a blog post, reported American Forces Press Service. “All but a few states have streamlined their professional licensing requirements to better meet the needs of veterans and military spouses; and so many schools, faith communities, community groups, and neighbors have found countless ways to make a difference for our military families.”
