Unemployment for Youngest Veterans Dropped to New Low in 2015

Veterans of all generations experienced significant employment gains last year, with the youngest generation of veterans enjoying the best year ever for employment, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

Unemployment for post-9/11 veterans continued a steady decline that began in 2012, reaching an all-time low in 2015 for that figure of 5.8 percent, reported Military Times. That represents a significant improvement from 2014, when the annual rate was 7.2 percent.

The November unemployment rate for post-9/11 veterans set a monthly record, falling to 4.2 percent. In December, however, that figure rose to 5.7 percent.

Unemployment for all veterans in 2015 fell to 4.6 percent, the lowest annual rate for that figure since 2008, according to the story. The November unemployment figure of 3.6 percent was the lowest monthly rate for all veterans since late 2007.
