‘Celebration on the Chesapeake’ Marks ADC Award to Northeastern Maryland

ADC President Bill Parry joined leaders from northeastern Maryland and Aberdeen Proving Ground last week to celebrate the Chesapeake Science and Security Corridor being named to the 2018 class of Great American Defense Communities (GADC). Local organizers held a vintage Americana-themed event in Havre de Grace featuring Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford; Maj. Gen. Randy Taylor, senior mission commander of Aberdeen Proving Ground; Harford and Cecil county leaders; and other local officials.

The Chesapeake Science and Security Corridor is one of five communities that make up the 2018 class of GADC, a program recognizing the unique contributions made by communities that host military installations to improve quality of life for service members and their families.
