• Michigan Workforce Board Needs Consultant for Tech Transfer Effort0

    The Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board is issuing a request for proposals for an iBridge Network pilot microsite or a similar product for the Michigan Defense Innovation Ecosystem and regional technology transfer/innovation plan. This project is intended to connect universities with commercialize-able technologies in order to accelerate innovation. Another goal is to grow and enhance social networks among those involved in commercialization processes. The project requires the contractor to provide resources to: provide access to the iBridge Network or a similar tool; convene stakeholders to design and launch a microsite and explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration around commercialization processes; develop a technology transfer plan; and provide recommendations for sustainability.   • Development Authority Seeks Consultant to Complete Ft. Drum JLUS0

    The Development Authority of the North Country, Watertown, N.Y., is soliciting proposals for the completion of the Fort Drum Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). The study will address compatible land use between Fort Drum and communities within a 30-mile radius of the Army installation.   • Kentucky Seeks Consultants to Assess State’s Cybersecurity, Aerospace Industries0

    The commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking two economics and analytics consultants to study the cybersecurity, and aerospace, aviation and defense industries in the state. Each of the studies — made possible through assistance from DOD’s Office of Economic Adjustment — will determine the economic impact of the subject industries and provide recommendations for continued growth at the local, regional and state levels. Additionally, the consultants will make recommendations concerning industry sector opportunities, workforce development, education and enabling legislation, among other requirements. The aerospace, aviation and defense study requires an interactive, web-based product with mobile-friendly attributes that visualizes the results of each area of interest. It will provide associated supply chain maps, as well as educational centers, and allow for rapid retrieval and download of relevant data, charts, maps and graphs. The commonwealth released the two RFPs April 8 on the state procurement website. Bid proposals are due May 6 (cybersecurity) and May 12 (aerospace, aviation and defense).   • Pikes Peak COG Seeks Consultant for JLUS for Colorado Springs Region0

    The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments is seeking a consultant to prepare a joint land use study for Colorado Springs to provide guidance for addressing incompatible land uses to installations, communities and the private sector. For the Colorado Springs Regional Joint Land Use Study to successfully identify the issues and appropriate strategies to resolve them, a robust public process is critical. Transparency in developing community plans and a concerted effort to identify and address the concerns of all stakeholders is critical to building mutual trust and gaining buy-in for the ultimate product.   • County Seeks Communications Plan for Ohio Tank, Vehicle Manufacturing Facility0

    Allen County, Ohio, has released a notice to bidders and specifications for a communications and social media plan for the county and the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center, a government-owned, contractor-operated facility that produces tank and military vehicles. The notice to bidders and specifications are available on Allen County’s webpage. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2 p.m., on April 4 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be submitted on the proposal form furnished by the county and in accordance with specifications and general requirements. The Board of Allen County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and waive any irregularities in favor of the county. Sealed bids are to be in writing and in accordance with specifications furnished by the county.   • Michigan Workforce Partnership Needs Technical Support for Social Network Analysis Project0

    Advance Michigan and the Workforce Intelligence Network of Southeast Michigan (WIN) are seeking competitive proposals to support their effort to carry out a social network analysis of community partnerships and resources supporting the southeast Michigan defense industry. The project, funded by DOD’s Office of Economic Adjustment, calls for the contractor to: train WIN project staff to use and manage social network analyses; provide training and access to social network analysis software; and provide technical assistance to project staff during the first phase of analysis to ensure success. The RFP is available on the Advance Michigan website. Proposals are due March 3. Please refer to the RFP for guidance regarding submitting questions and details of the bidders conference.
