The city of Newport News, Va., is soliciting proposals for the completion of a joint land use study (JLUS) for the Fort Eustis portion of Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) and surrounding communities.
The JLUS will examine installation activities and surrounding land use and development plans to identify and document potential impacts and opportunities to establish shared goals and long-term compatibility with adjacent localities. A JLUS was prepared for Langley Air Force Base in 2010 prior to the merger with Fort Eustis as a joint base. The new JLUS will only address the Fort Eustis facilities; however, the study will be coordinated with the host unit, 633rd Air Base Wing, which provides installation support functions for JBLE.
Proposals must be received at the Office of Purchasing, 4th Floor, City Hall, 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607 by 5 p.m. on Aug. 15. All questions should be directed to Gary Sightler, CPPO, purchasing agent, email@example.com; or Feleasha Sherfy, assistant buyer, firstname.lastname@example.org. The solicitation is available on the city’s website.
