State Seeks Consultant to Study Kentucky’s Defense, Aerospace Sectors

The commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs, seeks an economics and analytics consultant to study the aerospace, aviation and defense industries in the state.

The study will determine, in detail, the economic impact of the industries and provide recommendations for continued growth at the local, regional and state levels. Additionally, the selected vendor will make recommendations concerning workforce development, education and enabling legislation, among other requirements.

The results of the study will include a web presence with mobile-friendly attributes that visualizes the results of each area of interest, associated supply chain maps and educational centers, and enables rapid retrieval of information and download of relevant data, charts, maps and graphs.

The study was made possible through grant funding assistance awarded to Kentucky through DOD’s Office of Economic Adjustment.

The commonwealth released an RFP on Nov. 10 on the state procurement website. Bid proposals are due Dec. 1 (10 a.m. EST). The Kentucky Finance & Administration Cabinet Procurement point of contact is Holly Callaghan, 502/564-4932,
